The number one tourist destination in the United States, the Big Apple welcomed 67 million travelers in 2019. The editorial staff has combed through New York establishments. Our guide.
Excessive, effervescent, mixed, New York is the symbol ofamerican dream. No wonder the “Frogs”, as our neighbors across the Atlantic call us, are stung! More than 800,000 French people stay there each year. A constantly rising figure that ranks us fourth in the Big Apple tourist ranking, behind the English, Chinese and Brazilians.
Times Square, its Statue of Liberty, its museums, its places of power, its theaters, its little-known gems… There are as many reasons to visit New York as there are skyscrapers. The youngest? The Edge, a glass walkway 360 meters above the ground, to be discovered from March 11. In the area of accommodation, hoteliers are also competing for innovation to attract discerning travelers. Our selection.
Moxy Chelsea (8/10)
It is the promise of a secret garden in Midtown, literally the “middle of town”. From the green facade to the lobby, where a florist composes bouquets, this young and relaxed establishment is distinguished by a universe full of flowers. An “Italian romance” atmosphere in perfect harmony with the neighborhood, nicknamed “Flower District”, and the establishment’s restaurant (Feroce), with Roman influences. The 349 rooms, bathed in natural light thanks to large bay windows, offer a privileged view of north or south Manhattan. The must: the rooftop on the 35th and last floor, accessible by reservation only, which can boast of being one of the highest in Manhattan.

The Times Square Edition (8,5/10)
There, in the heart of the frenzy of Times Square, all is order and beauty, luxury, calm and pleasure. This new 5-star, designed by Ian Schrager, the founder of the iconic Studio 54 nightclub, transports the traveler in a felted bubble, imbued with nostalgia for the sulphurous nights of the 1970s. Homage to the past with the Paradise Club, a cabaret of very high standing which offers a meticulous show from Thursday to Saturday, on the 7th floor. We almost forget the 452 rooms and suites, located between the 14th and 40th floors. Minimalist and decorated in wood and white tones, they offer a bird’s eye view of Times Square. No wonder that this place has become, in a few weeks, the hot spot of the city that never sleeps.

The Hoxton Williamsburg (7,5/10)
Bohemian and trendy, The Hoxton’s first American address reflects its neighborhood, the only one in Brooklyn to offer a high-end hotel offer. Located just one stop into Manhattan from the nearest subway station, the establishment showcases the area’s industrial past with floor-to-ceiling brickwork and décor inspired by the surrounding old factories. In the 175 rooms (available in cozy or roomy, more spacious), the wood furnishings and floors are a nod to the water tanks installed on the roofs of many New York buildings. Do not miss to look at the schedule of events organized in the hotel (concerts, conferences, sports lessons, exhibitions …), the ideal opportunity to mingle with the residents who have made the Hoxton one of their favorite addresses. to work, dine and have fun.
